  1. OGR 06/11/2015

    Hi Luke,

I'm going to be really honest and say this is a disappointing, under-developed and highly provisional OGR :(

The city you describe is essentially a description of Chilhuly's existing work, as opposed to a 'concept'. The quickest way I can show what I'm expecting from students at this stage is by directing you to Eleanor's OGR; I want you to take a really good look at it - at the thumbnails, at the travelogue, and just how much thought has gone into getting under the skin of her artist.

Remember, this is about the city that Chilhuly would design - so you need to get into his brain, and into his creative philosophy. In short, Luke, you need to pick up the pace. You need to be careful about simply 'enlarging' Chilhuly's works - you should look at glass architecture in general terms to give yourself some ideas re. upping the scale credibly:

I'm pleased you've got a scanner on the way, but I'm not convinced you're yet giving this course the full whack of your time or attention. You need to go back to Chilhuly, and think more about 'his city and you need to have more fun with this! Onwards!
